As of 2023, The Law Chronicle has been a partner of the United Nations Net Zero Facility Of The Re’Planet Capital Fund. We launched at the UN Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland - where we debuted a multi-partner trust fund leveraging investment for transformation.
Our ESG section came to fruition from a researcher at The Law Chronicle who had previously worked at the United Nations. This core value aims to support environmental initiatives and sustainability; as well as keeping your organisation up to date with environmental, social and governance (ESG) regulation/policies.
Saffron Gilbert-Kaluba
CEO and Founder
Saffron is the CEO and Founder of The Law Chronicle. She has been named as one of the top founders in law and media by Forbes. Additionally, Saffron has been credited for her work in the legal sphere. Reuters have named her a Reuters Legal Leader amongst the worlds top General Counsels, Chief Legal Officers and the Law Society of England and Wales president.
Saffron Gilbert-Kaluba, is a UK ambassador for the United Nations’ new capital fund set to leverage eco-investments through a blended finance model to transition toward building a climate-conscious economy. The UNWTO's Multi-Partners Trust Fund, a component of the UN NetZero Facility, is poised to provide advisory services and grants aimed at hastening worldwide efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
She ardently advocates for frameworks that prioritise ecological sustainability, as Saffron dedicates her efforts to harmonising financial principles with environmental conservation.

Joseph Hand
Head of Corporate and ESG
Joseph is Head of Corporate and ESG at The Law Chronicle. He has previously worked as an administrator to the UK Government Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy. Joseph has a Geology degree from UCL, fully accredited by the Geological Society of London.
He is committed to integrating geoscience principles into sustainable practices for a greener future through a cultivation of a profound understanding of Earth’s systems. Fueled by a dual passion for finance and the environment, Joesph navigates the intersection of these realms with enthusiasm, seeking sustainable financial solutions that contribute to both economic growth and ecological well-being.
Previously, Joseph has worked as an environmental educator in the United States. He also has a love of astrophotography.
