The Law Chronicle is a London-based regulatory intelligence and horizon scanning platform serving banks, financial institutions and professional services firms across the UK and internationally.
We were founded on a simple but important observation: the volume, velocity, and complexity of financial regulation have outpaced the capacity of most compliance teams to monitor it effectively using traditional methods. Regulatory publications are fragmented across dozens of bodies, consultation timelines overlap, and the gap between a regulatory signal and an organisation’s awareness of it carries real risk.
Our mission is to close that gap. We synthesise regulatory intelligence into structured, actionable insights, enabling compliance and risk professionals to anticipate change and demonstrate governance to regulators and clients.
What We Do
Regulatory horizon scanning is the practice of systematically monitoring the regulatory environment for emerging developments - consultations, policy statements, supervisory guidance, legislative proposals - before they become binding obligations. Done well, it transforms compliance from a reactive function into a strategic one.
The Law Chronicle provides this capability as a managed intelligence service. Our team monitors primary sources across multiple jurisdictions daily, contextualising developments within the broader regulatory framework and surfacing the implications most relevant to each financial institution. We do not simply aggregate headlines; we analyse what regulatory developments mean in practice, who they affect and what organisations need to do in response.
